About the league
The Western League is a series of cyclocross events covering a region of British Cycling in the West of England. Events take place at numerous venues from the Forest of Dean in the West to Bradford on Avon in the East and Cheltenham in the North to the Mendips in the South.
Races are organised under British Cycling rules by different cycling clubs/teams and coordinated under the Western League umbrella. By registering for the league your results count towards an overall league position. League registration is not mandatory and we welcome novices, occasional riders and riders from outside the area.
All events and categories are chip timed and entry is on the day (to date there has never been a need to cap race numbers). We run both winter and summer leagues. Our aim is to promote participation in cyclocross racing by making races easy to enter and catering for all abilities.
Winter events are eligible for British Cycling license points for those with an appropriate race licence. More information on races, results, league positions and photos can be found on our Western League Cyclocross Facebook page.
